Protect Yourself with Travel Vaccinations Before You Go

Before heading overseas, it’s important to protect yourself against diseases that aren’t common in New Zealand. Many serious illnesses—such as, Typhoid, Rabies, Malaria and Hepatitis A—are still present in other parts of the world, even though they are rare or eliminated here thanks to our national immunisation program.

COVID-19 also remains a global health concern, and vaccination is strongly recommended before travelling.

Getting vaccinated before you travel helps reduce your risk of infection and ensures you’re protected while abroad. Our clinic can provide up-to-date advice on the vaccines recommended for your destination, and help you plan the best schedule to ensure full immunity before departure.

When to Book Your Travel Vaccinations
We recommend booking an appointment at our Clinic 8 to 10 weeks before your departure date.

Some vaccines require multiple doses, and it can take time for your body to build full immunity—so planning ahead is essential for your protection.

During your visit, our healthcare team can also provide tailored advice on staying healthy while travelling.

If you're heading to an area where malaria is a risk, we can assess whether preventive medication is needed and advise you on when to start taking it—sometimes even before you leave.

Please fill in this form and email to nurse@drs123.co.nz so she can provide you more information including how much this will cost you.
